"Atomic KGB Bunker" is a unique collection showcasing formerly secret surveillance equipment and devices used by NKVD, KGB, and militia special services. Until recently, the technology employed by the KGB could only be read about in books or seen in James Bond films. In the Soviet Union, KGB security structures not only monitored ordinary citizens but also deeply distrusted their own colleagues, tracking them through both official and covert methods. The KGB and State Security Committees always operated with the most advanced and innovative technology, supported by highly trained specialists, officers, and agents. Any morally outdated surveillance equipment was strictly destroyed under signed protocols, while part of the technology was transferred for use in the military industry.

This privately funded museum leaves a lasting impression on visitors of all ages. It is the most popular museum in Kaunas, offering an experience that engages all five human senses — you can see, hear, smell, feel, and even taste elements of the exhibition. The museum holds more than 14,000 artifacts, features an interactive tour, and is officially recognized as military heritage.
