The monument to Juozas Lukša-Daumantas, unveiled in 1996 (sculptor V. Cikana), honors one of the most renowned Lithuanian freedom fighters. A member of the Tauro partisan district and a key liaison with the West, Lukša-Daumantas became a symbol of courage and resistance during the Soviet occupation. Veiveriai, a region strongly marked by partisan activity, preserves his memory not only through this monument but also through a dedicated exhibition in the local Museum of Regional History. The monument stands as a reminder of the unbroken spirit of those who fought for Lithuania’s independence.
