Vilkyškiai town is an urban reserve pleasantly situated on the slopes and ridges of Vilkyškiai hill, on both sides of the Klaipėda-Jurbarkas highway. The old spatial structure and street layout of Vilkyškiai have been preserved to this day. A monument to the residents who settled in these surroundings after the great plague (1709-1711) and a monument to the parishioners who died in the First World War recall the complex history of Vilkyškiai.
Additionally, the central manor building and the Evangelical Lutheran Church have survived. The church was built in the 16th century but reconstructed in 1896. During Soviet times, the church served as a grain warehouse. Now it has been revitalized and renovated. On the church wall, there is a memorial plaque dedicated to the German writer Johannes Bobrowski, the author of the novel "Lietuviški fortepionai" (Lithuanian Pianos).
The town is also home to the "Vilkyškių Pieninė" a dairy established before the Second World War, renowned for its excellent cheeses, making Vilkyškiai well-known not only in Lithuania.
