It is believed that the history of Lithuania's statehood began from this tiny stream, and the name of the entire state originated from it. The stream flowing into Neris river marked the united lithuanians lands, and the historical heart of Lithuania with the old capital Kernavė is located a few tens of kilometers away.
In this place, access to the stream has been arranged, a bridge has been installed, and you can drink water from the spring gushing into the Lietava stream.
The approach from Upninkai village is over 10 km along a gravel road and forest roads. There is a ford in this place, depending on the water level you can cross to the other side of the stream towards Perelozai.
