The Zypliai Manor Ensemble is a cradle of Zanavykai enriched with history and culture. The Museum of Zanavykai is located in the carriage house building, where people travel to learn about the past, traditions and customs of the region, and try out the old crafts of Zanavykai with their own hands, and leave it with big smiles on their faces every time.

In this museum even 50 thousand accumulated exhibits narrate the profound history of the Zanavykai region and the town of Šakiai in detail. In the historic hall respect was given to the famous people of this region, signatories and courageous book-smugglers who spread the Lithuanian word, and important historical events were recorded. Ethnographic expositions attract the rare and antique household items: mangels, magiels and bed of the poor (Lith. Ubago Lova). Some of these may be unfamiliar to you!

The Zanavykai Museum has also become a cradle of fostering ancient crafts. Visiting the educational program "Stories of Old Things", reveals the splendid colours of the beautiful Zanavykija national costumes. No wonder they are one of the most beautiful in Lithuania. After all, the ladies of Zanavykai always liked to dress! The most elegant part of the suit is a woven apron: with a milk-white botton of linen, with longitudinally woven stripes of thick red geometric and plant ornaments.

Women in Zanavykija used to bloom all year round, as the aprons and scarves were decorated with archaic tulip (lily) ornaments, which became an exclusive detail of culture of this region. Such a tulip can be molded, decorated and baked in a furnace at the museum during a polymer clay educational program.
