St. Guardian Angels Church was built in 1830 in place of St. Ann's Chapel which still stood there in the 17th century. Current interior of the church is of Neo-Baroque, and therefore it is colourful and decorative. There are sacred valuables of artistic value in the church. 114 volunteers, who have fallen fighting for Lithuania's freedom rest in the nearby cemetery. Antanas Juozapavičius, the first Lithuanian military officer who died for the independence of Lithuania is among them. A number of people of merit to Alytus and Lithuania are laid to rest here as well.
