The first church was built in 1524. When it has burned down, Classical style brick house of worship was built in 1818 near the old shrine. In order to honour the initiator of construction, the priest Liudvikas Kaminskas, the church was consecrated under the name of St. Ludwig. A bell of the church was cast by famous master Jonas Delamarsas in 1669 and resounds from the belfry of the church.
