This is one of the former buildings of the Katauskiai Manor homestead. The chapel was built in 1835 and restored in 2008 to mark the 400th anniversary of the apparition of the Virgin Mary in Šiluva. Lithuanian manor chapels were small and mostly intended for the needs of the landlord’s family. The landowners believed that God’s grace could visit their family if a chapel stood on their land.
