A tragic history of Pirčiupiai village is reminded of the "Mother of Pirčiupiai" which stands near the Vilnius–Druskininkai road. Granite sculpture with plastic shapes symbolises mother‘s pain, reminds us the tragedy of 3 June 1944, when Hitlerites burned Pirčiupiai village. 119 people died in flames, 27 homesteads reduced to ashes. The monument "Mother of Pirčiupiai" was built by sculptor Gediminas Jokubonis in 1960.
