The central figure of the artistic symbol of Liškiava is the axe - a symbol of work and struggle, often used in heraldry. An archaeological find - an axe with a narrow blade and a blunt end of the V - VII century - served to create the sculpture. This axe is a particularly rare and exceptional find. It can be assumed  that this weapon belonged to a man with an exceptional status in the community, who was not an ordinary soldier but a commander or even a local duke.
