It seems that the majority of paths intended for walking or riding in Druskininkai naturally lead to the Gydyklų Park. The space between the banks of the Nemunas River, the forest, Town Municipality building and beginning of Vilnius Alley is filled with the Musical Fountain, physiotherapy facilities and buvettes. Green is summer, decorated in winter, this place surely can be referred to as the heart of this SPA town.
Those who want to know more, would find out that under the Gydyklų Park, drilled mineral water wells are lurking, from which this water is fed for health and wellness procedures into the physiotherapy facilities nearby; you may love to have this water for refreshment, then just move to the buvettes around, or, alternatively, you may wash your face with the beauty water from the Beauty Spring on the bank of the Nemunas River.
While by the Fountain, you can’t miss SPA Hotel "Europa Royale". This facility found a place for itself in the oldest building among all physiotherapy facilities in Druskininkai, built in 1896. The present building of "Druskininkų gydyklos" (Druskininkai Physiotherapy Facilities) is much more "younger", built in 1960. It has been reconstructed as well, just a decorative mosaic piece has survived on the facade – a picture of two young people, a boy and a girl. Those two have been created in the artist’s Boleslovas Klova imagination first. According to the artist, they are rivers the "Ratnyčėlė" and the "Nemunas".
Holidaymakers adore the time spent outdoors in the Gydyklų Park before procedures and after. In the summer time, after dusk, lots of people come here to look at and listen to the illuminated Musical Fountain. Unsurprisingly, namely in this spot many take pleasure, as people meet their old long unseen friends here and enjoy musical therapy sessions together. It’s for sure: if there is a probability that someone from your folks are having rest in Druskininkai, you will meet them here, in the Gydyklų Park.
