Švėkšna is a small town famous for the tall twin tower, a red brick 19th century church and a manor park. The town of Švėkšna belonged to Samogitia, so its urban structure is different from the towns of Lithuania Minor, it is a former border town of East Prussia and Great Lithuania. The town was first mentioned in written sources in 1503.
